her story

A life shaped by service.

“My goal has never been a title. My goal has always been to serve.”

Long before Ashlee was leading worship teams, coaching volunteers, or overseeing ministry across multiple campuses, she was being shaped by the environment that raised her. She grew up at New Greater Love COGIC in Stockton, California, where church was not simply something her family attended. It was part of the rhythm that formed her faith, her leadership, and her understanding of service.

Her formal staff leadership began at New Greater Love, where she served as Youth & Young Adult Minister of Music and Fine Arts Director. She also served as Junior Chairlady for the California Northwest Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.

That foundation matters. Ashlee is not coming to ministry as someone trying to find a platform. She has been shaped by years of serving people, leading teams, building worship environments, and learning how to carry responsibility before the room ever sees the finished moment.

faith journey

Not Performance.Presence.

Ashlee grew up in church, memorized Scripture, and knew how to “do church.” At the same time, she is honest about the fact that surrender became real for her in adulthood.

Her words are simple and strong: “Now, I love Him and I act like it. Every day is an opportunity to know Him more, love the way He loves, and forgive the way He forgives.”

That conviction sits at the center of how she leads worship. She is not trying to manufacture a moment. She wants to help create rooms where people can slow down, turn their attention back to God, and respond with honesty, faith, and surrender.

ministry philosophy

The posture matters more than the spotlight.

The way Ashlee talks about worship tells you a lot about how she leads. She has never been motivated by visibility, influence, or platform. What matters most to her is helping people encounter God in a real way and making sure the room points to Him rather than the person holding the microphone.

She says it this way: “I’m a worship leader, and I just want my posture to stand out enough for people to be drawn to God, not me.”

For Ashlee, worship leadership is stewardship, not performance. The goal is not to be impressive. The goal is to help the room become honest before God, cared for by the team, and clear about the One they came to worship.

five voices

NURTURERGUARDIAN

Nurturer

Ashlee carries the relational awareness of a Nurturer. She can feel how a team is responding, notice when people need care or clarity, and help protect the human side of ministry while still moving the work forward.

Guardian

She also carries the steadiness of a Guardian. She values order, preparation, responsibility, and clear expectations. That combination matters in worship ministry because spiritual sensitivity still needs structure strong enough to carry the assignment.

candidate insights

How she thinks.

ministry priority

Ashlee is not trying to build ministry around personality. She wants to build it around people, presence, preparation, and a clear commitment to Jesus.

lead pastor expectation

Her expectation of a lead pastor is simple: lead from biblical conviction, communicate clearly, and create a healthy place for people to serve.

what frustrates her

It frustrates her when churches do not prepare the next generation. For Ashlee, development is not optional. It is part of stewardship.

what stands out

She does not want to stand out above her peers. She wants her life, leadership, and posture to help people see God more clearly.

church alignment

Ashlee values assignment. She is not trying to align herself with every room. She wants to serve where God has actually called her to build.

ideal culture

Healthy. Christ-centered. Clear. A place where people can grow without confusion around the standard.

key motivation

To lead people to Jesus in ministry and in life, not just through songs, but through the way she serves and leads.

family

Mother first.

meet

Tate&Tyler

Ashlee is the proud mother of two sons, Tate and Tyler. That part of her story matters because it shapes the way she thinks about leadership, sacrifice, stability, and stewardship.

This is not just a ministry decision for her. It is a family decision. She has never moved her sons before, and she is approaching this with the kind of care that a mother should bring to any major transition.

At the same time, she describes her sons as maturing and capable of adjusting to the right environment. That says something important about the way she leads at home: with honesty, preparation, and care.

For Ashlee, leadership does not start on a platform. It starts in the places where consistency matters most — at home, in relationship, and in the daily decisions that shape the people entrusted to her.
